UCCA9892693 - We are a cast iron pipe foundry that has been in business for 100 years. We are currently seeking bilingual Spanish speaking Safety Specialist candidates for full time hire. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the operation of our Safety Program in compliance with Cal OSHA Regulations. The Safety Specialist will provide training to Supervisors and hourly employees in OSHA rules and regulations, work site safety practices, inspections, etc. Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as Industrial Safety required. Candidates must have the equivalent to college or university education in order to be considered. Duties: Provide Department level management and leadership to the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations and in furtherance of the Industries Best Practices. Provide direction to the facilities accident prevention program by directing and participating in studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to employee's health, and ensuring that appropriate corrective action is taken. Manage the facilities Workers Compensation and modified duty program to include the implementation of practices to reduce the facilities acute, repetitive motion and ergonomic related injuries. Ensuring that employee's return-to-duty progress is appropriate and coordinating with medical providers and the facilities workers compensation carrier on the employee's prognosis, course of treatment and reserve levels, as necessary. Review all Level II accident investigations and ensure completeness of the root cause analysis and the implementation of proper correction action. Implement programs to train management, supervisors and hourly employees in work site safety practices, accident and fire prevention and proper handling techniques of chemicals, toxins and materials. Provide training, leadership and oversight to the safety and industrial hygiene inspections conducted by third part safety personnel and the facilities management and supervision. Provide leadership and direction to the facilities hearing conservation program, including noise reduction and monitoring efforts as well as audiometric testing and use of personal protective equipment. Ensure that all safety, industrial hygiene and medical records, information and reports required for compliance and per Company policy are maintained and completed as needed and on a timely basis and that all records and information are properly safeguarded to maintain employee confidentiality. Interface with regulatory officials, consultants, Safety professionals at other facilities, and professionals throughout the industry as appropriate and as necessary both as a resource to others and to gain information on others solutions. Service and provide leadership to site and industry-wide safety committees. Prepare safety department budgets and prepare detailed cost benefit analyses for major safety related initiatives.
