Our growth as a supplier/partner in multiple industries, medical, automotive, electronics, has allowed us to concentrate and build our core competencies - customer service, engineering and design, tooling design, build and maintenance, program management, and contract manufacturing including secondary operations such as sonic welding, along with clean room molding and packaging. We are located in the East Bay. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager. Job Summary: Manage the Human Resources generalists/clerk team, and oversee administration of compensation, performance management, benefits, and employment-related compliance issues. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee investigations and investigate employee workplace situations or complaints, including claims of harassment, discrimination and/or policy violations. Oversee and provide human resources counsel to employees on employee relations issues, including advising on performance management issues, conducting terminations, and workers compensation and disability leaves. Develop and administer employment policies and procedures in compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal laws. Design, preparation and oversee administration of compensation, benefits, and job descriptions programs. Keeps abreast of current legislation affecting human resources; trains workforce on compliance concerns. Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrated strong management, analytical, organizational and project management skills. Thorough knowledge of laws affecting human resources administration. Proven ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees, including senior level management to a 7/24 production environment- with three shifts. Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic and the ability to maintain high level of confidentiality on sensitive issues. Strong desire to include ability to speak Spanish, but not necessary; PHR or SPHR certification- highly desired; experience in a manufacturing environment, helpful. Relevant HR Work Experience 5 to 7 years. With an important emphasis of previous HR Manager role in the last 3 years. We offer a competitive wage based upon experience. The requirements for our open position are as follows: Human Resources Generalist II is the intermediate level. Exercises sound independent judgment within established guidelines. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. * Knows basic company practices, procedures, policies and job tasks. Applies knowledge of standard concepts and principles that apply to job assignment. * Works on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Tasks are well defined, has some latitude to determine procedures. * Methods and approach are fully reviewed prior to implementation. Follows standard procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Monitor, create and maintain appropriate employee documentation as it pertains to the hiring and selection process, employee discipline, employee relations investigations, and employee terminations to maintain compliance with internal and external policies and regulations. 2. Provide guidance and counseling to managers and employees on employee relations, employee discipline, and performance issues by providing coaching, interpreting company policies and procedures for resolution of personnel matters. 3. Recruit, schedule interviews, phone screen and conduct orientation for new employees. 4. Manage Workers’ Compensation program. 5. Manager OSI employee safety and awareness training program. 6. Administer Benefits Program. 7. Administer Compensation Program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of Human Resource office practices and procedures. 2. Skill in operating personal computer, various office equipment and machines, and telephone system. 3. Ability to communicate with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. 4. Ability to maintain confidentiality of classified information at all times. 5. Strong needs assessment skills. 6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 7.Ability to work closely with the user community to analyze and develop requirements definitions. 8. Ability to develop complex reports based on needs assessments and/or requirements definitions. 9. Knowledge of FMLA, Workers’ Comp, ADA, and other employment law practices and policies. 10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 11. Ability to train employees in safety and ergonomic topics. 12. Ability to make presentations to an internal audience and interact positively with upper management. 13. Familiar with EEOC and Affirmative Action regulations. 14. Familiar with I-9 regulations. 15. Ability to establish and accomplish goals independently and function as a team. A 4 year college degree or 5 or more years experience in a related position is required.
