These are very physical positions as you will be climbing stairs frequently to get into tanks and also on roofs. Must be physically fit, and have the ability to carry 50 pound hoses while wearing up to 20 lbs. of safety gear. The use of a respirator is required as you will be exposed to many different chemicals. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. These are direct hire, full-time positions and training for 40-hour Hazwoper certification will be provided. On-site Driving (Class C Driver's License) required. CONCA9140838 - A growing and dynamic environmental company with operations coast to coast is seeking an experienced Lab Manager for their plant outside of Salt lake City, Utah. The Lab Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager or General Manager and is responsible for the complex analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. The Lab Manager overseas all lab operations and integration with other parts of the company/facility. The essential elements of the position include, but are not limited to; Performs complex analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve problems; Calibrates and utilizes sophisticated instrumentation, able to understand al aspects of the instrumentation;Maintenance of equipment, suggests solutions to problems; Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion; Responsible for supply management in their area of responsibility; Ensures all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines; Responsible for problem solving when results fall outside of mandated specifications; Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures; Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all company Health & Safety and Compliance protocols; manages the laboratory staff and operations including training less senior members of the Lab; Completes all personnel functions for the laboratory staff, including but not limited to, Hiring, Terminating, performance evaluations. Required skills: Ability to work in a team environment; Solid understanding of math, chemistry and chemical testing; Advanced working knowledge of the laboratory; Proficiency in Windows based applications; Knowledge of operating systems; Organizational skills; Problem solving skills; Initiative; Management skills. Specific duties include (but are not limited to); enlist corporate resources as needed to ensure 100% customer satisfaction; assist with managing customers air, water and hazardous waste programs; manage and track facility wide cradle to grave waste generation, storage, and disposal; responsible for proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance; schedule transportation and disposal for outgoing wastes as needed; provide waste tracking reports as needed; maintain adequate levels of equipment for emergency responses and ongoing projects; scope special projects and provide estimates; assist customers with compiling data necessary for completing the Annual Report and other required reporting functions; conduct facility wide compliance audits to include inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance; provide weekly status reports to facility management; utilize waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program; performs other assignments as assigned by management.
