We utilize the latest technology in producing mechanical assemblies and devices out of materials such as titanium, stainless steel and other metals. We currently have openings for two CNC Programmers. Among our divisions we have a variety of software in place including GibbsCAM, CATIA, and MasterCAM. We are looking for journeyman level programmers with at least 5 or more years of full time programming experience. You must be able to write programs in 2D and 3D for Lathes, Mills and systems with 4 and 5 axis'. You will be working independently and must be able to design, write and troubleshoot your programs. UCCA10225765 - SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the research and development process of existing and new products. These responsibilities include sourcing, costing and scaling. This position also oversees and coordinates the product commercialization process, the development of in-plant processes, the testing of equipment, and to also improve manufacturing efficiencies and the implementation of cost-saving measures. This position will provide support to the VP of Marketing and the Director of Research and Development by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Have thorough understanding of all product specifications and procedures, plant processes, equipment parameters and tolerances as well as demonstrate the ability to competently run all equipment in the facilities; Formulate cost-reduced versions of existing products that are not transparent to the consumer as well as making improvements to current products; Establish project timetables and budgets; Research and bench-top testing to initiate development process; Preliminary ingredient sourcing and costing. Main focus to be on raw material cost reduction (sourcing alternate vendors/ingredients, contacting vendors for specifications, Letters of Guaranty and other information, lead times, sample requests, etc.); Conduct sensory testing to refine product through further bench-top testing and establish concepts for scale-up testing during process; Document all testing procedures (i.e., ingredients, amounts, methods, time, temperature, etc.) in a standardized format; Interact with other departments such as Engineering, QA and Production to achieve a smooth development process. Execute development plans; Produce samples for Marketing/Focus group testing as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will have supervisory responsibilities over Scale up, Ramp up/Commercialization teams. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university. Food Science degree preferred. At least four years in a food-related industry with in-plant and equipment experience. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Working knowledge of nutritional evaluation software programs, labeling software, and MRP system. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid California Driver's License, clean driving record. Fluency in English (Written and Verbal). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud in the production area.
